Polestar reports strong increase in sales

The Swedish company (listed on the New York Stock Exchange Nasdaq since the end of June) delivered around 21,200 vehicles in the first six months of 2022, more than doubling the number of deliveries compared to the same period last year (9,510 vehicles) - an increase of almost 125 percent.

Global order intake rose to over 50,000 since the start of 2022, up more than 350 percent year-over-year, as the company continued to see strong customer demand and booked the first portion of Hertz orders. With this strong performance, Polestar reiterates its goal of delivering 50,000 vehicles for the full year.

“It’s great to see that the number of enthusiastic Polestar 2 customers is growing so quickly,” said Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath. “I am very confident that the strong momentum we have seen in brand awareness and sales this year will accelerate strongly in the coming years as more groundbreaking cars are introduced.”

Polestar expanded its global presence from 19 markets to 25 in the first six months of 2022, while the number of retail locations worldwide increased from 103 to 125.

Around 30 additional retail locations are expected to open by the end of 2022. This increased retail presence increased the number of test drives by more than 210 percent - a key indication of growing consumer interest in the brand (according to Polestar).
