Mercedes launches its own charging network

By the end of the decade, Mercedes-Benz wants to operate more than 10,000 fast charging points worldwide, thereby setting new standards for fast, convenient, green and reliable charging of electric vehicles. Mercedes-Benz is relying on the energy and mobility expert E.ON as a partner to set up and operate the Mercedes-Benz fast charging network in Europe. The new charging park in Parndorf is located directly on the A4 in the middle of the Parndorf Fashion Outlet. Drivers of an electric vehicle can now quickly charge at 10 charging points, each with an output of up to 400 kW. Thanks to intelligent charging management, each vehicle can be charged with the maximum available energy. Mercedes-Benz Charging Hubs are open to all vehicle brands.

More than infrastructure

“With our first charging hub in Parndorf, we are creating a charging experience that goes far beyond the pure infrastructure,” promises Agnieszka Kühn, CEO Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Austria. In Parndorf, customers can visit the shopping gallery while charging. Illuminated elements on smart poles, numbered charging spaces and a dynamic status LED bar provide information about the availability of the respective charging station and the charging status. The Mercedes-Benz charging parks are seamlessly integrated into the digital charging network MB.Charge Public. In electric vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, the navigation system shows the exact position and current availability of the charging points. This information is used by navigation with Electric Intelligence to calculate a comfortable and time-efficient route including charging stops. At the same time, Mercedes-Benz customers can use a reservation function that exclusively books the charging point in advance. Mercedes-Benz offers its customers attractive fixed tariffs via the MB.Charge Public Service. Further Mercedes-Benz Charging Hub locations are planned for this year in Allhaming in Upper Austria and Völkermarkt in Carinthia.
