Catia is also used in the development of components for Formula 1 cars. Catia is a CAD system from the French company Dassault Systèmes that was originally developed for aircraft construction. Catia is short for Computer Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application, a computer-aided, three-dimensional, interactive application. Catia V5, V6 and Catia 3DExperience are the newest and most widely used CAD tools.
