Hyundai relies on AI
The Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) wants to use AI-supported innovations in its core mobility solutions and is therefore entering into a strategic partnership with chip and graphics card manufacturer Nvidia. The two companies will collaborate in various areas, including the introduction of accelerated computing, generative AI and industrial digitalization technologies across the Hyundai Motor Group value chain. "Hyundai Motor Group is exploring innovative approaches with AI technologies in various areas such as robotics, autonomous driving and smart factories. This partnership will accelerate our progress and position us as a pioneer in developing AI-powered mobility innovations," said Heung-Soo Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Strategy Office at Hyundai.
Under the agreement, Hyundai Motor Group will use “NVIDIA Accelerated Computing” and “AI Enterprise Software” to manage the massive amounts of data required to securely develop and train its AI models for various applications. HMG will also use Nvidia's “Omniverse Platform” to develop physical AI and digital applications and simulate factory operations to improve production efficiency and quality and reduce costs. In addition, HMG will use the Nvidia Isaac robot development platform to develop and deploy AI robots. Both parties will also work closely together to create virtual simulation environments for safe and reliable autonomous driving technology and robotics systems. "Accelerated computing, generative AI and omniverse are unlocking a new era of mobility. This partnership will accelerate the development of safer, smarter vehicles, ensure higher efficiency and quality manufacturing, and leverage cutting-edge robotics to create a smarter, more connected and digital workplace," said Rishi Dhall, vice president of automotive at Nvidia.
