Further training in driving techniques
In 2022, over 114,800 people across Austria trained in driving techniques with the ÖAMTC, 13 percent more than in the previous year.

Further training in driving techniques
The eight Austria-wide ÖAMTC driving technology centers for safe road traffic were well attended in 2022. As part of the multi-phase training, over 40,000 people new to driving licenses for cars and motorcycles took part in the legally required driving safety training. This corresponds to the best value since 2013. But there has also been an annual increase in the area of regular motorized two-wheeler training since 2019, which resulted in a record high in 2022. In addition, ÖAMTC Fahrtechnik introduced practice-oriented professional driver training in cooperation with the Public Employment Service (AMS). Last year there were over 10,000 participants in the commercial vehicle training courses (trucks, buses and tractors).
“Our attractive range of courses is aimed at all motorized road users: whether by car, motorcycle or commercial vehicle, whether as a beginner or professional – our training ensures more safety and confidence when driving,” emphasizes Karl-Martin Studener, Managing Director of ÖAMTC Driving Technology, and continues: “We have used the pandemic period for extensive modernization measures in all eight driving technology centers and updated our course programs.” In addition to the regular training sessions in the ÖAMTC driving technique centers, the established driving safety events “Austria’s Safest Motorcyclist” and “She’s Mercedes Lady Day” also took place last year – the latter celebrated its 25th anniversary last year. Last year, Austria's motorsport talents were once again honored at the “Ford Racing Rookie”. For the second time, the motorcycle test days were held in cooperation with Arge2Rad. Furthermore, B2B events could be held again in 2022 (including in the Experience Center in Saalfelden and in Teesdorf). All events will go into the next round in 2023.
