Premiere of the first major state championship postponed for a year

Since the preliminary rounds cannot take place in all federal states, the Federal Automotive Technology Guild has unanimously decided across all committees to postpone this premiere of the first major state championship in automotive technology from autumn 2020 to autumn 2021. For the first time, it is planned to hold the national competitions of both professional groups of the Federal Automotive Engineering Guild at the same time in one place. “With this idea we want to increase public awareness,” agree the federal education officers Erwin Aichberger (bodywork) and Hubert Stoff (motor vehicle). “When all the vehicle specialists – namely the bodywork technicians and automotive technicians – come together, it is a tremendous organizational effort,” emphasizes Josef Harb, Federal Guild Master of Vehicle Technology. The Vienna State Guild, which has accepted the challenge this year of coordinating over 250 people consisting of participants, jurors, lecturers and vocational school teachers, is also taking on this task in 2021. “We have everything under control,” jokes Georg Ringseis, state guild master of vehicle technology in Vienna. "What we would have achieved this year, we will achieve even more next year. We are already looking forward to this premiere in 2021."
