Generous BMW donation for apprentices

The donated models and engines have a total value of over 1.5 million euros and feature the latest and most innovative vehicle technology. All 30 engines made available for training purposes come from the BMW Group plant in Steyr. “As an attractive employer in the region, we want to offer practical training and create enthusiasm for our vehicles,” said Christian Morawa, CEO BMW Austria, at the handover to the representatives of 17 Austrian vocational schools at the BMW Group Campus Salzburg. The BMW Group has been supporting educational institutions in Austria for many years and, as one of the country's most popular employers, consistently invests in practical training for young people. In 2022, the BMW Group in Austria, together with its dealer partners, hired 129 new apprentices. This corresponds to an increase of over 40 percent compared to the previous year.

Salzburg's Governor Wilfried Haslauer said on the occasion of the vehicle handover: "We need top employers and educational institutions that are strongly networked and guarantee exciting and practical training. We will continue to create the best possible framework conditions in the future to further strengthen Salzburg as a business and educational location." In total, over 6,000 students benefit from the models made available, who can test their theoretical knowledge on the vehicle. In this way, young people come into contact with their potential new employer and its products at an early stage.
