The best Styrian apprentices

A total of 18 young people took on the challenging tasks that had to be completed at 12 stations. Both practical and theoretical skills were tested. At the individual stations there were problems to be solved that are part of everyday workshop life. The units that were provided for the tests included the gasoline engine, air conditioning, diesel engine, starter, vehicle electronics, wheel suspension, brakes and transmission. At another station, a fault diagnosis had to be carried out on a motorcycle. In addition, mechanical production work and a theoretical part of the exam had to be completed. The winner of the state apprenticeship competition was Fabian Murovec, who works for the Steiermärkischer Automobil- und Motorsportklub Graz. Mario Mandl from Autohaus Paier & Paier GmbH in Gleinstätten took second place, and Matteo Trumler, who is completing his apprenticeship at Magna Steyr Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH & Co KG in Graz, took third place. Fabian Murovec and Mario Mandl will represent Styria at the state championships on September 6th and 7th in Innsbruck.
