Auto Lindner: New training workshop
The apprentices and employees in the repair and service department at Auto Lindner in Wals-Himmelreich are looking forward to a special training workshop. The special thing about it: A fully equipped workshop is located in a separate room away from the normal workshop activities for teaching and practice purposes. Apprentices in particular benefit from the new facility. Without any stress or time pressure, you will learn the initial service work on your company's used vehicles, such as changing oil and filters, operating diagnostic devices or the necessary work steps for vehicle inspection. They are each provided with an experienced vehicle master who only looks after the young technicians during this time.
Managing director Manfred Lindner sees himself as a pioneer in Austria in this area. "The training workshop is not an idea or requirement from the group. A year ago we asked ourselves the question of how we can improve the quality of the training of our apprentices and technical employees and make it as practical as possible." Users of the training workshop are not just apprentices. In addition to newly hired mechanics from third-party brands, experienced technicians also appreciate the offer for more complex repairs. “It can happen that the entire wiring harness of a vehicle is removed in order to track down an electrical problem,” adds Lindner. Lindner sees further advantages of the new opportunity for further training in the quality improvement: "Our apprentices and technicians feel more comfortable if they have been able to practice processes in advance. This means we can integrate them more quickly into the company's internal processes and the quality of our technical services automatically increases."
The Lindner car dealership took on four new apprentices in August. The family-run company employs a total of 14 apprentices. Active employer marketing with a website, Facebook, events and recommendations helped ensure that the search for qualified new apprentices was very successful this year. In addition, Auto Lindner attracts with special workplaces (noise protection, underfloor heating, special lighting, relaxation room, fitness studio), many opportunities for further training and additionally with accommodation in the company's own house.
