EuroSkills 2020 will be postponed to January 2021
The good thing first: EuroSkills2020 is taking place in Graz. Due to the current situation and the difficult to predict developments surrounding COVID-19, the organizer, EuroSkills 2020 GmbH, in coordination with the umbrella organization World Skills Europe, had to decide to postpone the European Skills Championship, EuroSkills 2020, to January 2021. Unfortunately, an international event of this format cannot be held in the past due to the current Corona crisis and the restrictions on European travel that are expected until autumn 2020. The new date for the Austrian first edition of the European Professional Championships is nowJanuary 6th to 10th, 2021at the Messe Congress Graz.
"As difficult as this step is for us, it is sensible and without alternative," explains EuroSkills 2020 Supervisory Board Chairman Josef Herk. "We would like to thank all partners, supporters and sponsors for supporting this step. And I am sure that with this first European Skills Championship in Austria we will have a good, even sensational start to a good year 2021. Together we can do it." The postponement of the event also creates major challenges for the entire team that will have to be overcome in the next few months. Project plans need to be adjusted, logistics plans need to be recreated and adapted to the new event date, hotel rebookings need to be made, and much more. The two managing directors Harald del Negro and Angelika Ledineg emphasize intensive but feasible.
