ZKW expands logistics center
Since the existing storage space at the ZKW Group headquarters has reached its capacity limit, the lighting system manufacturer is building a new logistics building.

ZKW expands logistics center
With the new construction of the logistics center, ZKW is investing an additional 17 million euros in the Wieselburg location. The expansion is intended to strengthen competitiveness and create space for further added value. “Especially in this tense economic situation in the automotive industry, it is important to invest at the right time,” says Oliver Schubert, CEO of the ZKW Group. ZKW produces around three million main headlights every year at its main factory in Wieselburg. Not only do the different components for production have to be made available as needed, but numerous spare parts also have to be manufactured. The new production supply building will offer 62,000 container spaces. In the future, the material will be transported fully automatically through the factory to production via a three-kilometer-long conveyor system. Construction will begin in April 2020 and the new logistics system is scheduled to go into operation in summer 2021.
