Electric mobility as an economic factor in Lower Austria
Last week, the 5th “e-mobile in Lower Austria” conference took place in Wiener Neustadt with a record number of more than 200 trade visitors.

Electric mobility as an economic factor in Lower Austria
“The increasing demand for e-vehicles fuels the economy and benefits the environment - we have succeeded in setting an upward spiral in motion,” say the Lower Austrian LH deputy. Stephan Pernkopf and State Councilor for Economics and Technology Petra Bohuslav agreed. For example, since the state initiative “e-mobile in Lower Austria” was founded, the number of public e-charging stations has increased significantly. Lower Austria currently has more than 1,200 publicly accessible charging stations - including more than 50 fast charging stations - and thus a comprehensive network. There is a publicly accessible charging port every 30 km. Thanks to attractive subsidies, over 1,500 e-vehicles have already been newly registered in Lower Austria this year; in total, there are already over 7,500 e-vehicles on Lower Austria's roads, and the trend is rising. The new cooperation between the state initiative “e-mobile in Lower Austria” and the Automotive Cluster Upper Austria opens up new opportunities for the local economy. Suppliers from the conventional drive train should be supported in the technology assessment of alternative forms of drive. In addition, the scope of an Upper Austrian test region for automated and networked driving is to be expanded to Lower Austria, explains Jochen Danninger, commercial director of ecoplus.
