The WD-40 Company has redesigned the WD-40 Specialist series. From now on, the can will be produced in the central brand colors of blue, red and yellow and no longer in gray.

The WD-40 Specialist series has been an integral part of the WD-40 Company's product portfolio since 2012. The WD-40 Specialist, Motorbike and WD-40 Bike product lines complemented the portfolio a few years later. In recent years, the company has been able to firmly establish itself on the market with the WD-40 Specialist product series and achieve a competitive size in the wholesale and end customer business.
The cans, which were still designed in silver gray at the time, were completely redesigned and shine in new splendor. The WD-40 Bike and WD-40 Specialist Motorbike products are now also incorporated under the brand name WD-40 Specialist, all of which then have the uniform blue product design. This measure is intended to further strengthen the ever-growing awareness of the products.
The revision of the design is not just a purely visual measure. It also offers retailers a stronger positioning at the POS. In addition to the uniform can design, all WD-40 Specialist products now also have a red spray head to create a more homogeneous appearance across all product lines. By approaching the design to the WD-40 multifunctional product and to the central brand colors blue, red and yellow, a quicker connection to the WD-40 brand is created. “The unmistakable brand strength of the blue-yellow can with the red head will be further expanded, from which retailers will also benefit,” the company said in a press release.
In order to enable customers to make decisions more quickly at the shelf, the product name was also made more eye-catching and the product advantages were highlighted. The clear application area on each can clearly communicates the purpose for which the product is to be used. A study that has already been carried out in the USA has confirmed that the design is convincing across the board: users become aware of the WD-40 Specialist series more quickly and therefore find the appropriate product to solve their problem more quickly.
