Vienna Auto Show canceled

The Vienna Autoshow is the annual start to the new automobile season in January. There will be no car show at the Vienna exhibition center near the Prater in January 2021.Barbara Leitner, Chief Operations Officer Reed Exhibitions Austria, revealed to us in an interview: "We have had intensive discussions with the exhibitors and the working group of automobile importers over the last few weeks. The Corona crisis has hit the automotive industry hard. At the group level of our exhibitors, trade fairs were canceled for economic reasons, so there will be no Vienna Auto Show in January 2021." 

Günther Guys, spokesman for the working group of automobile importers: "There were two reasons on the part of the importers for canceling the VAS in January. First: The entire automobile industry is in crisis, so savings were made on a large scale. Second: The exhibitors now had to decide whether the trade fair could take place in January or not. Many importers had doubts as to whether and how a trade fair could have been held with over 150,000 visitors. The danger of the second The Corona wave is still ahead of us. That’s why the January date has been canceled.”

Exciting: There are already discussions that you can...VAS in fall 2021- one to two weeks after the planned IAA in Munich. There would be synergy effects because many world firsts could already be in Munich and brought to Vienna with a manageable amount of effort.
