Unterberger and BMW Kaufmann cooperate

From January 1, 2019, the family business will take over operational management of the BMW, BMW Motorrad, MINI Service and Hyundai car dealership on Landesstraße 30 and expand the offering. With 16 locations, the Unterberger family business is one of the largest car dealers in western Austria and neighboring Bavaria. Since it is becoming increasingly difficult for lone wolves in the automotive trade, Markus Kaufmann, owner and managing director of Kaufmann KG, has decided to enter into a strategic partnership with Unterberger. “We are both family businesses that attach great importance to employee management, which is reflected not least in long-term employment with the company,” says Markus Kaufmann, explaining his well-considered decision. All 48 employees will remain loyal to the company, and a site manager is being sought immediately, explains Gerald Unterberger, managing partner of Unterberger Automobile. The company already has many years of successful experience with 50:50 percent partnerships at the two Innsbruck locations, the BMW Group Competence Center Unterberger-Denzel and the Autowelt Innsbruck Denzel-Unterberger, a multi-brand car dealership with Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo. The traditional company with more than 600 employees sells around 7,500 new and used cars every year.
