And the marmot greets you every day
Hardly a week goes by without at least one major car manufacturer announcing a supposedly revolutionary new strategy. Of course, behind creative word creations there is always basically the same thing: the frantic, politically motivated flight into electromobility. If only it goes well!

And the marmot greets you every day
Anyone who deals with the automotive industry almost feels like the weather announcer played by Bill Murray in the cult film “Groundhog Day”: you experience constant déjà vu.Hardly a week goes by without some car manufacturer announcing a new strategy.
Of course, the content is practically identical: the transformation towards e-mobility is announced. Even the goals are often the same: Renault would like as well VW play a leading role in e-mobility in 2025. That would be for Jaguar Land Rover That's too much, but they want to become a purely electric luxury brand - also by 2025. ford turns the factory in Cologne into an electric center, wants to have only purely electric vehicles in its car range from 2030, GM wants to say goodbye to the combustion engine by 2035 and achieve climate neutrality by 2040.
From an environmental protection perspective, this is laudable. But you can be surprised. As is well known, electrically powered motor vehicles existed at the beginning of the development of the automobile around 1900. A hundred years later, in July 2003, Tesla was founded, which is now almost 18 years ago. But only now are the car giants suddenly in a hurry.
This is obviously less about environmental protection and more about avoiding high penalties from the EU. Is this the right motivation for developing inspired products? In order to be successful, you will need more than just crisp terms from marketing experts Renaulution (Renault) or Reimagine (Jaguar). It will be interesting to see what comes next. And hope that smaller suppliers and workshops are not run over.
