And that's how it works

The experts from the IFL (interest group for vehicle technology and painting) Mario Spitznagel and Stephan Kolodzinski explain what exactly the “detector” has to do in the workshop and how the procedure works at the IFL. There are currently several ways to submit a report to the IFL. By fax and by email. Both variants are rarely used. The most common ways: Access the registration form online on the IFL website, fill it out and send it directly. To do this, the user must first go to our website. You don't need to log in or register, everything is accessible in the open area. Or: Reporting form from the online calculation systems (Audatex, DAT, Eurotax, Schwacke). Here the user can fill out and send the reporting form from the calculation system directly during a calculation. As soon as the company has sent a report via the online reporting form, it will be informed that we have received everything and will process it.
How is the processing done? The reports received receive a process number and the contents are summarized in individual folders. We look at what problem the report is about (vehicle, year of manufacture, which calculation system the report concerns, etc.). The most important thing for us is the full chassis number so that we can identify the vehicle precisely.
We calculate the process in the appropriate calculation system and see where the problem could lie. It often turns out that the user has made errors when entering or interpreting the results. Here we can provide feedback very quickly with the relevant information. If there is feedback from the data provider that it is an internal problem, this will be resolved with the next update. If we receive feedback from the data provider that the problem or the information comes from the relevant vehicle manufacturer/importer, we contact the vehicle manufacturer or importer with the request and the information we have collected. If a solution is available, the data providers are informed by the manufacturer/importer and adjust this in the systems. Such processes often result in IFL technical bulletins. The reporter receives corresponding feedback from us.
