Tyrol - dealer reports from quarantine
Herbert Höck, managing director of the Seiwald car dealership in St. Johann in Tirol, is a Toyota, Fiat and two-wheeler dealer (Ducati, Vespa, Piaggio, GasGas). The whole of Tyrol is currently in quarantine. “You are currently only allowed to drive your car in your own district, and at most in a neighboring district if you cannot get food or other important goods in your own district,” says Höck.
The car dealership has completely switched to short-time work. "We have the workshop open in emergency mode. That means one man for the cars, one for the motorcycles." The businessman is disappointed with politics: "What we are currently being presented as help is an impudence. Until the first financial support comes from the state, you may have to transfer three full months' wages including additional costs. You have to have that many reserves first."
The biggest problem: no customers. "The trade is completely closed, we all know. But the workshop in emergency operation is also barely utilized. Customers simply aren't coming, even though it's tire changing season now and the motorcycle season is just around the corner."
