Schaeffler: Less swaying
Schaeffler wants to revolutionize chassis technology with the series production of an electromechanical roll stabilizer.

Schaeffler: Less swaying
The innovative system developed by Schaeffler replaces the previously common hydraulic stabilizers, which are intended to reduce the rolling movements of the vehicle body in curves or during quick evasive maneuvers and prevent the vehicle from rocking. The electromechanical system presented by Schaeffler also helps to reduce fuel consumption and emissions and simplify vehicle assembly. The control technology solutions used for this were developed by supplier Continental, who also provided the ECU (Electronic Control Unit), the engine control and the software platform. Peter Gutzmer, Chief Technology Officer at Schaeffler: “With the world’s first electromechanical roll stabilizer, Schaeffler is expanding its range of electromechanical actuators, which make significant contributions to automobiles in terms of performance and efficiency.”
