A large part of the growth comes from the used car and leasing business, says Michael Schwaiger, Commercial Director Auto Business at Santander Consumer Bank since 2009. At that time the new volume was 175 million euros. Since then, the financial institution has expanded its dealer network to more than 1,500 cooperating car dealerships, through which over 70,000 vehicle financing transactions are now processed per year. “Our bank has developed into a major player in the Austrian automotive market,” says Schwaiger happily. In recent years, new collaborations such as Volvo, Harley-Davidson, KTM and Yamaha have been added, as well as more than 400 new dealers. “The billion in new volume is now another huge milestone, and it encourages us to continue to invest and grow in the automotive business and to continue to be a reliable partner for the trade,” said Schwaiger.
