Renault wants to cut back on new cars
At 180 km/h the fun will be over in the future. Then a speed limit should apply, which Renault wants to impose on its new Renault and Dacia cars.

Renault wants to cut back on new cars
The automaker reportedly wants to install an automatic speed control system called Safety Coach. This system is designed to automatically adjust the vehicle's speed according to local speed regulations and take into account circumstances such as sharp curves, driver concentration and even the weather. In addition, there should be a maximum speed limit.
180 km/h for more safety
At the company's shareholders meeting in Paris, Renault boss Luca de Meo announced that the new models from Renault and Dacia should not drive faster than 180 kilometers per hour in the future. The reason for this: Excessive speed is the reason for almost a third of all fatal traffic accidents, as de Meo emphasized at the meeting.
Luca de Meo, who, in addition to Renault and Dacia, also has the Lada and Alpine brands under his umbrella, had announced that Renault wants to be the leader in Europe for cars with electric drives. By 2025, the proportion of electrified passenger cars should already be 65 percent, and by 2030 a proportion of at least 90 percent is planned.
By the way, the French aren't the only ones who are letting off the accelerator: Volvo has also already announced that it will install a speed limit of 180 km/h.
