Tires Göggel: Trendy SUV and van tires
E-commerce and construction activity are strong drivers for vans. Last year alone, more than eight percent more light trucks were registered (Germany). The growth in new registrations in recent years also had an impact on the vehicle inventory. Over the last 10 years, over 45 percent more vans have been registered. Although the replacement demand for light truck tires did not grow equally, it grew by a fifth during this period, more than average. The tire industry had neglected this market segment for a long time. In the wake of the general stagnation in passenger car tires, van tires are gaining more attention. The Swabian tire wholesaler Reifen Göggel is therefore preparing for a two percent increase in demand for van tires in 2020.
SUV segment
The SUV segment's share of new car registrations is rising inexorably. Last year the 31 percent mark was exceeded. This increase was driven by small and medium-sized cars, while off-road vehicles “only” increased by ten percent. Reifen Göggel has expanded its inventory for the SUV segment because demand is expected to increase by more than ten percent in 2020.
