Actually, only Audi's previous year's figures were supposed to have been presented yesterday, but the announcement was overshadowed by the raid by the German police and public prosecutor's office. Reason: the diesel emissions scandal. There has been speculation for months about the extent to which Audi was/is involved in the emissions scandal. Yesterday's raid was intended to be a further step towards clarification. Audi spokesman Jürgen De Graeve promised full cooperation with the authorities and confirmed the surprise visit. Meanwhile, Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) would like to sue the Federal Motor Transport Authority because VW's recall campaign did not bring about the hoped-for emissions savings and the official bodies are doing nothing about it.
