Quality seal for automotive data decided

ADPA, the European Association of Independent Automotive Data Publishers, aims to ensure fair access to automotive data and information and to create a competitive framework for independent data publishers. Its members, eight leading European publishers of automotive data (including Hella Gutmann Solutions, Bosch, TecAlliance and many more), have decided to introduce a quality seal that symbolizes their commitment to the continuous use of reliable data sources and processes at a European level.

“In view of current and future developments and the ever-increasing complexity of vehicle repair and maintenance information, an extremely high quality standard in data publication is more important than ever - and all of our members do justice to this,” says Ralf Pelkmann, President of the ADPA. With the boom in electromobility and in particular connected cars, the processes for servicing, servicing and repairing vehicles are becoming increasingly complex, making it more important than ever for workshops to have modern, up-to-date and consistent repair and maintenance information.

Therefore, the seal is based on strict requirements that allow motor vehicle data publishers to join the association and receive the seal only if they adhere to the highest standards in terms of data sourcing. In particular, it ensures that they obtain a significant portion of the repair and maintenance information they process from the vehicle manufacturers themselves. It is indeed a significant financial and technical effort that the holders of the label make to ensure that they can offer their customers the most credible and reliable services.

Online workshops will be organized in the coming months to learn more about the initiative. The aim is to explain the ADPA seal of quality and its meaning for the aftermarket and interested professionals in more detail.
