The anniversary foundation of the Austrian Automotive Industry Association awarded cash prizes totaling 28,000 euros at Graz University of Technology for work of particular value for the Austrian vehicle industry.

Walter Linszbauer, Managing Director of the Austrian Automotive Industry Association, congratulated all award winners in his celebratory speech and pointed out that since the anniversary foundation was founded in 1984, more than 400 prizes with a total volume of almost 900,000 euros have been awarded to doctoral and diploma students for their outstanding work. This year, out of a total of 25 submissions, 11 prize winners were recognized for their practice-oriented and therefore valuable academic work for the automotive industry. The first prize went to Robert Steffan for his dissertation “Development of a 48-volt full-hybrid drive train for an ultralight vehicle”, second place went to Mattias Mayer (dissertation “Influence of engine oil specifications and different fuel properties on the pre-ignition behavior of highly charged direct-injection gasoline engines”) and Dominik Geringer (diploma thesis “Construction and control of a battery simulator for automotive applications”). Michael Dienbauer received third prize for his diploma thesis “Validation and extension of a multi-component evaporation model for fuel droplets in high-pressure diesel injection”.
