Porsche Holding: Short-time work for 6,400 employees
Porsche Holding Salzburg (PHS) is taking advantage of the Austrian federal government's offer of "Corona" short-time work, which is being implemented due to the temporary closures of all of its dealers and service operations, with the exception of the emergency service. This measure is intended to protect employees and customers and contribute to the economic stability of the company. In coordination with its employee representatives, the PHS has therefore registered 6,400 employees from all business areas affected by the business closures and the production stop of the manufacturer brands with the AMS for “Corona” short-time work, retroactively from March 1st to May 31st, 2020. The business areas include retail, wholesale and parts of Porsche Bank and Porsche Informatik.
“This measure serves the sustainable stability and profitability of our company,” says Hans Peter Schützinger, spokesman for the management of Porsche Holding Salzburg, adding: “This means we can ensure that once the crisis is over, our employees return to work in good health and are fully available to meet the pent-up demand in service as well as in the new and used car sector, as well as in the financial services sector.”
