Peugeot 3008: The touring car
On the trip to the coast of Liguria, the French compact SUV Peugeot 3008 proved that it is ideal as a touring car.

Peugeot 3008: The touring car
Feel
When you get in, you immediately notice the generous amount of space and the comfortable front seats, which invite you to take a comfortable long-distance journey. Unfortunately, the generally good view of the outside thanks to the high seating position is impaired by a high shoulder line and huge side mirrors - together with the wide A-pillars, there are relatively large blind viewing angles on the left and right front. The small steering wheel adopted from the 208 and 308 appears quite undersized in the 3008, but does its job satisfactorily thanks to powerful power assistance. The interior materials in the Allure equipment are of extremely high quality; the non-slip leather steering wheel and the metallic buttons in the center console feel particularly good.
Drive
With the 1.2 liter three-cylinder petrol engine, the 3008 is not a powerhouse, but it is not underpowered either. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds and the top speed of 188 km/h are completely sufficient for city, country roads and motorway traffic, and the excellent noise insulation and high ride comfort are particularly pleasant. The six-speed automatic always finds the right gear autonomously, meaning that there is no need for paddle shifters.
Load
Despite the compact external dimensions of the 3008, it is also very comfortable to sit in the rear; legroom and elbow room leave nothing to be desired. With a minimum of 520 and a maximum of 1,482 liters, it can easily accommodate the luggage of two to three people when the backrests are up. However, if you have a crew of five, you should take a roof container with you on a vacation trip.
Conclusion
The beefy yet elegantly cut outfit of the Peugeot 3008 brings a touch of French chic to the compact SUV class. The technology never takes center stage and is at a pleasingly high level. The 3008 is therefore a clear recommendation for the daily commute to the office and equally for extended car trips.
