Personnel: New managing director at the BMW plant in Steyr

Alexander Susanek will be the new Managing Director of BMW Motoren GmbH from January 2020. "With Alexander Susanek, we are strengthening our drive technology team with a competent, experienced production professional. I am convinced that he is the right person to lead the Steyr engine plant further into the future," says Michael Nikolaides, Head of Engine and Electric Drive Production at the BMW Group.

Susanek studied mechanical engineering and industrial engineering at the Technical University of Munich and received her doctorate from the Faculty of Business Administration at the Ludwig Maximillian University in Munich. After starting his career at MAN, where he worked for nine years in various specialist and management positions, he joined the BMW Group in 2014 as head of the prototype construction department. Since November 2017, he has been working as an assembly manager at the Regensburg plant. On his new task: "The team in Steyr stands for competence and passion when it comes to powertrains and therefore plays an important role for the BMW Group. I am looking forward to becoming part of this strong team as plant manager."
