Park Now is parked at Easypark
Park Now, the collectively named parking app from BMW and Daimler, is changing hands: the Swedish competitor Easypark will be awarded the contract - provided the cartel watchdogs approve the deal.

The idea is simple, the application makes sense: reserve parking spaces and pay using your smartphone – that’s what Park Now should do. The app is one of the five pillars of the joint mobility service provider Your Now from the car manufacturers BMW and Daimler. This also includes car sharing and taxi services. There have been rumors about a possible sale of the parking app for a long time, and now it has been completed.
The company will be sold to the Swedish competitor Easypark, as the two car manufacturers and the new owner have now announced. It was agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The antitrust authorities still have to approve the takeover. Park Now Group operates in 11 countries under the brands RingGo, Park Now, Park-line and Parkmobile. The Park Now Group offers a broad portfolio of digital parking services in over 1,100 cities – both in parking garages and on the side of the road. Customers can reserve, book and pay for parking spaces online via the app. The Park Now Group has been active on the market since 2016, and the Park Now app is used in over 280 cities in Austria and Germany.
Global pioneer in cell phone parking
EasyPark is a fast-growing European mobility service provider that makes both parking and charging electric vehicles easier for drivers. Using the app, users can not only find, manage and pay for parking spaces, but also charging stations. We are present in over 2,200 cities in 20 countries in Europe and Australia. The planned takeover of the Park Now Group will allow EasyPark to continue to grow and expand its position as a global pioneer in digital parking services. Technology investors Vitruvian Partners and Verdane are behind the Stockholm-based company, which was founded 20 years ago.
Markus Heingärtner, Country Director in Austria at EasyPark Group, says: "It's great that EasyPark is now taking the next step through the planned acquisition. This means that we can continue to renew and develop our service portfolio in Austria and grow our business by reaching even more customers and users of our services. I'm really looking forward to starting this journey now."
Park Now is not the first joint venture between BMW and Daimler that was started with high hopes and is now being outsourced. In 2019, both companies decided to abandon the shared car sharing service Share Now in North America and some European cities.
