Opel: Struckl goes, Deneus comes

As of November 1, 2018, Pierre Deneus will take over responsibility for Opel Austria as Managing Director. Alexander Struckl is leaving the company after 22 years. Pierre Deneus has extensive experience in the automotive industry. As an electromechanical engineer, Deneus began his career in Belgium in 1986 at an independent automobile importer before starting his career at Opel Belgium in 1988. After various positions in sales and aftersales, Pierre Deneus led the fortunes of Opel Belgium as Managing Director from 2010 to 2016. Since 2016, Deneus has been responsible as Regional Sales Manager for the five countries Austria, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands and Belgium. Deneus speaks fluent German, French, English and Dutch.
There will also be changes in press and public relations: Christoph Stummvoll will head the new Austria-Switzerland press department. As press spokesman, he will be responsible for Groupe PSA corporate issues as well as the Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles brands in Austria. Lukas Hasselberg will serve as press spokesman for the Opel brand in Austria and also in Switzerland.
