OMV makes diesel CO2 neutral
OMV is bringing a 100% CO2-neutral diesel product onto the Austrian market. The OMV EcoMotion Diesel is now available to major customers in Austria.
OMV makes diesel CO2 neutral
OMV EcoMotion Diesel contains up to 33% renewable components consisting of a maximum of 6.9% FAME1 (fatty acid methyl ester) and around 26.1% HVO2 (hydrogenated vegetable oil). With this high biocomponent and the CO2-Compensation for the remaining portion is 100% CO2-neutral diesel is the first of its kind in Austria. The conventional CO2-Share of OMV EcoMotion Diesel is compensated by supporting international, recognized ClimatePartner projects. With 33% renewable content, OMV EcoMotion Diesel reduces greenhouse gas emissions by between 20 and 25% compared to purely fossil-based diesel.
One diesel for all vehicles
All types of diesel vehicles can be fueled with OMV EcoMotion Diesel, a product that was fully developed and produced by OMV in Austria. OMV thus offers its major customers a complete package for climate-neutral transportation. “We know that many of our customers are interested in more sustainable products and services and we are aware of our responsibility,” says Elena Skvortsova, OMV Board Member for Marketing & Trading. The entire OMV product portfolio will contain at least 60% natural gas and CO by 20252-free products are provided. OMV EcoMotion Diesel supports the achievement of the goal of reducing CO2-Intensity of the OMV product portfolio (Scope 3) by at least 6% compared to 2010.
