New Bosch Service Training Center
Bosch recently opened its new Service Training Center in Vienna Erdberg. The range of training topics has been significantly expanded.

“Our training center has been adapted to the requirements of the new training topics and now offers additional practical areas,” said Helmut Stuphann, Sales Manager Bosch Automotive Aftermarket Austria, at the opening. In addition to the well-known training courses on gasoline and diesel injection, braking systems, alternative drives and vehicle electronics, training courses for air conditioning and chassis technology as well as “all things bicycle” are now also offered. The training center also uses augmented reality tools to provide a glimpse of the workshop of the future.
The location of hidden components or cables appears on a tablet computer whose camera is aimed at the engine. Working instructions or required special tools are displayed to match the real image. This is intended to eliminate the need for time-consuming look-ups in service manuals and to prevent confusion due to different vehicle variants. “It will be a few years before the system is really ready for practical use,” says Helmut Stuphann.
