Luca de Meo was born in 1967 and graduated in business administration in Milan. He has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry and started his career at Renault. De Meo then moved to Toyota Europe and then to the Fiat Group, where he headed the Lancia, Fiat and Alfa Romeo brands. In 2009, Luca de Meo became marketing director for both the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand and the Volkswagen Group. In 2012, he took on the position of board member for sales and marketing at Audi AG. From November 1, 2015 to January 2020, he was CEO of Seat and a member of the supervisory boards of Ducati and Lamborghini, as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Volkswagen Group in Italy.
