New general manager at Ford

With effect from June 1, 2022, Martin Sander will be appointed General Manager Passenger Vehicles Ford Europe and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the German Ford-Werke GmbH. Sander's area of responsibility combines two previous leadership positions. This is intended to underline Ford's commitment to accelerate the electrification of its European product range.

Sander has had a 25-year career with the Volkswagen Group, where he held a number of different leadership positions in North America and Europe. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Sales for Europe at Audi AG. Sander succeeds Roelant de Waard as General Manager Passenger Vehicles, and as Chairman of the German Management Board after Gunnar Herrmann, who decided at the end of last year to retire or move to the supervisory board of Ford-Werke GmbH. He reports to Stuart Rowley, President, Ford of Europe.
