New CEO at Opel
A well-known face in the domestic automotive industry will be the new CEO at Opel and will lead the brand into a sustainable future.

New CEO at Opel
As of September 1, 2021, Uwe Hochgeschurtz, currently CEO of Renault Germany, Austria and Switzerland, will become the new CEO of Opel. He is taking over at a time when the traditional German brand is pushing ahead with international expansion - including into China - and electrification at great speed. Hochgeschurtz succeeds Michael Lohscheller, who has decided to take on another challenge outside of the Stellantis Group.
Uwe Hochgeschurtz will join Stellantis' top executive team and report directly to Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares. Born in Cologne, he started his career in the automotive industry at Ford in 1990 before moving to Volkswagen in 2001 and Renault in 2004. Hochgeschurtz studied business administration in Germany, Great Britain and France.
