New car registrations: 95,054 new car registrations were registered in the second quarter of 2019 - 7.2% below the previous year's result (-7,333 units).

The car segments

The mid-range (+11.8%) and luxury (+10.8%) segments recorded the highest growth in the second quarter. The largest losses, however, were suffered by the family van (-31.5%) and station wagon (-26.7%) segments.

The brands

When it comes to used vehicles, 40 % of brands recorded increases. In addition to Škoda, Audi and Seat, BMW (+175 units), Suzuki (+160 units) and Land Rover (+154 units) also achieved significant increases. In addition to VW, Renault and Peugeot, Opel (-704 units), Fiat (-696 units), Citroën (-536 units) and Toyota (-522 units) also suffered losses in unit sales. 

The segments

The highest re-registrations in the second quarter occurred in the medium off-road vehicle (+10.5%), commercial (+7.1%) and off-road vehicle (+6.6%) segments.
However, the sports car (-8.9%), family van (-7.1%) and minivan (-6.4%) segments suffered the greatest losses.

Used car registrations

Used car registrations fell by 2.0% in the second quarter of 2019. 229,143 used vehicles changed hands between April and June 2019 (-4,785 units compared to the previous year).
