Motorex: wellness treatment for the transmission

Motorex has developed a device that carries out the OIL CHANGE in DSG and automatic transmissions automatically, quickly and thoroughly - a service that is increasingly in demand as a result of the trend towards automatic transmissions and hybrid vehicles.
Numerous interested workshop owners and automotive technicians came to the “flushing days” at the Hella branch in Vienna Liesing to have the innovative Dynco transmission oil flushing device from Motorex demonstrated. Presenter Bernhard Flöck introduces himself as a “tribologist”, an expert in friction and lubricants, who is employed by the Swiss fresh oil refining company and who developed the flushing device based on many years of experience. “Changing the oil in automatic transmissions is a complex matter and cannot be compared with changing engine oil,” explains Flöck. It is not enough to dismantle the oil pan, drain the used oil and empty the fresh oil into the top. “If you do this with an automatic transmission, around 60 percent of used oil remains in the transmission due to the system,” says the Motorex expert.
The Motorex Dynco flushing device replaces all of the transmission oil in a dynamic process. Access is via special transmission-specific adapters that connect the Dynco to the system circuit. This means that the device can exchange the entire amount of oil in the circuit, which also runs through the converter and switch box.
AUTOMATIC OIL CHANGE
The simultaneous emptying and filling of the gearbox is fully automatic and does not require supervision. The control is computer-based, self-explanatory and can also be operated by inexperienced workshop employees. In addition, cleaning and care additives can be integrated into the service via the Dynco. “This makes technical sense and means additional business for the workshop,” promises Flöck.
THE BENEFITS OF THE MOTOREX DYNCO:
▶ Highest efficiency by replacing the total amount of oil in 3-8 minutes
▶ Easy to use thanks to intuitive menu navigation in 5 languages
▶ 12V power supply via on-board voltage
▶ Automatic synchronization to the flow direction
▶ Brand-specific adapters available individually
▶ Pre-programmed to the viscosity of all Motorex ATFs and DCTFs
▶ Easy to add cleaning and care additives
▶ Low investment costs and high additional income potential Wolfgang Schneider, Motorex Marketing Manager in Austria, calculates: “For the workshop, the purchase of the Dynco flushing device, which can be used for all vehicle brands, pays for itself after just 20 to 40 vehicles, depending on the amount of oil.”
OIL IS NOT THE SAME
The Motorex ATFs recommended for the respective gearbox type are already pre-programmed with their assigned viscosity profile and ensure the best balance of the different flow speeds of used and fresh oil. This innovative process ensures that the correct oil level is always maintained during the fully automated changing process and that no transmission control errors occur. “A modern car transmission needs between 6 and 10 liters of oil,” explains Flöck. The special lubricants contain up to 200 additives and are precisely tailored by the manufacturer to the requirements of DSG and automatic transmissions.
“Modern transmissions already have up to 12 gears so that the combustion engine always runs in ideal load mode,” says the Motorex expert. “We work closely with transmission manufacturer ZF, which equips around 80 percent of all automatic vehicles.” In hybrid vehicles in particular, the gear lubricant has to fulfill a variety of tasks and is subjected to extremely high demands. The oil not only has to withstand enormous temperature fluctuations from -40 to +260 degrees Celsius, but also serves as an insulator so that the high current from the generator does not damage the transmission control unit. It's no wonder that the HiTech lubricant ages faster than earlier, less stressed gear oils. “In the new Mercedes G-Class with 9-speed automatic and hybrid drive, a transmission oil change is recommended after just 45,000 kilometers,” reveals Flöck. Under no circumstances should any oil other than that specified by the manufacturer be filled during the flushing process, otherwise there is a risk of serious damage to the gearbox.
