Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross: The sporty all-rounder
The Eclipse Cross is a veritable crossover. Actually a cross between an SUV, coupe and station wagon, the lifestyle SUV - let's call it that - is particularly impressive in terms of design. With a length of 4.4 meters, the Eclipse Cross closes the previous gap between the Outlander (4.69 m) and the ASX (4.35 m).
You can't speak of a pack animal or a delivery truck here, especially since the Eclipse doesn't want to be that. On the contrary: we have an extremely stylish, fast and chic automobile that stands out - people actually talk about it on the street. The Mitsu also has enough space for both the driver and passengers. Maybe a little short on headroom in the back. The chassis appears to be softly tuned, and the automatic transmission also ensures comfortable progress. The drive unit is particularly a joy: four-cylinder with a displacement of one and a half liters plus turbo. It has a perfect, completely sporty effect. All-wheel drive and 163 hp, which feels like significantly more, also ensure great driving pleasure. In any case, special mention should be made of the all-wheel drive, called S-AWC (Super Wheel Control), which distributes the power via a Haldex clutch both to the front and rear in a ratio of 80:20 and automatically and variably to the left and right wheels. Conclusion: An SUV coupe that basically has no competition in this size at the moment.
