Minus 10.9% for new car registrations in February 2020
According to Statistics Austria, 21,067 new cars were registered in February 2020. This is 10.9% less than in February of the previous year.

New registrations of gasoline-powered cars fell by 25.1% (share: 46.1%) and diesel-powered cars by 10.3% (share: 39.3%). Passenger cars with electric drives increased (+42.0%; share: 4.7%). Overall, new registrations of motor vehicles (motor vehicles) also fell by 9.4%. The car brands with the most new registrations were once again VW (share: 15.7%), Skoda (share: 9.8%) and Seat (share: 7.6%). Among the top 10 brands, Mercedes (+34.3%), Hyundai (+26.3%), BMW (+3.6%) and Fiat (+1.3%) recorded increases; The highest declines occurred at Ford (-26.8%), VW (-25.4%), Opel (-23.1%) and Renault (-16.5%). Skoda (-6.4%) and Seat (-2.2%) each reported single-digit declines. When it comes to two-wheelers, fewer motorcycles (-20.5%) and motorized bicycles (-12.2%) were registered.
