Mazda CX5: The essence of the SUV feeling

Feel: Excellent all-round view, all controls within easy reach, all surfaces are of high quality both visually and haptically. We particularly like the projection of speed and navigation instructions into the windshield. The leather seats are firm and comfortable at the same time and can be adjusted in a variety of ways to achieve the optimal comfortable position. 

Drive:The powerful 175 hp turbodiesel is never overwhelmed by the vehicle's curb weight of 2,143 kg plus passengers and luggage and can confidently master even steep mountain roads. The all-wheel drive technology of the CX-5 uses a total of 27 different sensors to monitor, among other things, slip on the front axle, the outside temperature and the steering wheel angle. If necessary, drive power is continuously delivered to the rear axle. All of this happens unnoticed in the background, resulting in a confident driving experience that - if criticism at the highest level is permitted - filters environmental influences out of the cockpit almost a little too much.

Load:There is also enough space for the Font passengers, who in the highest equipment variant also sit on leather seats and enjoy seat heating. There is 506 to 1,620 liters of cargo space available for luggage, enough for a vacation trip or Ikea shopping. 

Conclusion:I immediately thought of the title “A Car to Forget” about the CX5, but there is too much potential for misunderstanding in that. What I actually mean by “forget” is that driving this Mazda SUV feels so light-footed, confident, effortless and uncomplicated that you no longer have to think about driving the car itself, but can fully adjust to your surroundings and your destination.
