Liqui Moly: Injector cleaning for more performance
It's a gradual process: over the years, the engine loses more and more power. Fuel consumption goes up, as do emissions levels. The culprit is deposits inside the engine that hinder combustion.
The gasoline never burns completely cleanly in the engine. Combustion residues always remain, which also adhere to the injection system and interfere with the spraying of the gasoline. This makes combustion even worse and new deposits form even faster - a vicious circle. The older the engine is, the more incrustations it carries around inside. And the worse the quality of gasoline, the more deposits appear. Just as a fire with wet wood burns poorly and produces a lot of smoke, the same applies to poor quality gasoline in the engine.
According to Liqui Moly, restoring the original performance and consumption values is not difficult. The injection cleaner is simply added to the tank. Every time the engine runs, the cleaning agents enter the injection system together with the gasoline and dissolve the incrustations. The loosened dirt is burned in the engine and then expelled along with the exhaust gases. The combustion chamber becomes clean again. In the case of stubborn dirt, it may be necessary to use a can of Injection Cleaner each time you refuel several times in a row. The injection cleaner can also be used as a preventive measure: one can every 2,000 kilometers ensures that new deposits cannot form in the first place. The Liqui Moly Injection Cleaner was tested by Automobile Testing Technology Landau (APL), a German testing institute that primarily carries out engine tests for car manufacturers. Initially, the engineers were skeptical about the effect of additives. But the test results convinced them - so much so that they now use injection cleaners themselves to remove deposits from their test engines. (Source Liqui Moly)
