The premium manufacturer did well in Austria in 2020, but globally it sold almost a quarter fewer cars than in the previous year. There is good news about the Jaguar I-Pace, which is being built at Magna Steyr in Graz.

The bad news first:Jaguar Land Roverhas425,974 vehicles sold worldwide in 2020. These are23.6 percent less than in 2019. The largest market for the British premium brand is North America (25%), just ahead of China (23%), Great Britain (20%), Europe (19%) and overseas markets (13%).
The good news concerns the Austrian market. While according to Jaguar Land Rover theNew domestic car registrations fell by 24.4 percent in 2020went, that fellMinusto 2019Jaguar Land Rover in Austria with 11 percentmoderate. In other words: Jaguar Land Rover was above the market average. Particularly pleasing: Land Rover was even able to grow by one percent compared to 2019, and the new Land Rover Defender may have helped significantly. But there is also something good to report about Jaguar: the fully electric oneI Pace- built by Magna Steyr in Graz - was able to get one in 2020Share of 35 percent of all Jaguar salessecure on home soil. More than one in three Jags sold is an I-Pace.
Felix Wannemacher, Managing Director Jaguar Land Rover Austria, on the sales figures in Austria: "With increased efforts together with our trading partners, we have managed to partially halt the downward trend with the right products and good offers. And at Land Rover we have even achieved a small increase. Despite the continued difficult conditions, we are cautiously optimistic about the year 2021. With three revised Jaguar models soon to be available in stores and new plug-in hybrid versions in four model series, we are well positioned to meet customer demand for modern drives - and also for the new one Tax legislation effective from July 2021.”
