Josef Harb, Styrian state guild master of automotive technicians, was pleased in his speech that “everything went like clockwork and that there were no breakdowns.” Castrol marketing manager Michaela Rockenbauer congratulated all participants on behalf of the other sponsors Würth, Berner and Garanta. She had brought a spectacular present for the best of the best. “At Castrol’s invitation, the winner will travel to Bristol to the factory where the future world speed record breaker Bloodhound is being built.” First place went to Marcel Müller, who is being trained at the Matthias Müller car company (the same name is a coincidence) in the small Vorarlberg community of Sonntag in the Großes Walsertal. The young Upper Austrian Mario Mitterhuber, trained by the MAN company, took second place; the Upper Austrian Felix Voglhofer, trained at the Perg-Gallneukirchen warehouse, took third place.
