Comfortable and cost-effective
The AutoZUM trade fair in Salzburg provided the stage for the talk “Networking in the workshop” with Frank Beaujean, Managing Director of Asanetwork GmbH

Comfortable and cost-effective
In the interview, Frank Beaujean emphasized the advantages of digitalization in workshops. He emphasized that digital solutions are successful when they are convenient and cost-effective. An example of this is the “Workshop-Net”, formerly known as Asanetwork, which serves as a standard for networking workshop equipment. This system makes it possible to seamlessly connect testing and service devices in the workshop with the commercial software, making processes more efficient and paperless.
Closing the digital gap
Beaujean explained that many workshops already use digital systems for inventory management, parts catalogs and scheduling. However, there is often still a “digital gap” to the actual testing devices in the workshop. By integrating Workshop-Net, wheel alignment devices or emissions testing devices, for example, can communicate directly with order management. This leads to a reduction in manual entries and minimizes sources of error.
Another advantage of the system is the time saving. Digital networking eliminates the need for walking and manual data transfer between different workstations. In addition, all relevant vehicle data is automatically transferred, which accelerates the work process and increases efficiency.
Hassle-free integration
Regarding implementation, Beaujean emphasized the low threshold of the offer. No new lines are required as the existing local network is used. The required software can be easily downloaded and installed. Many workshop devices already have the necessary interfaces so that integration can be carried out without any problems.
When it comes to costs, Beaujean explained that there are no additional fees for most users. Many device manufacturers support the system, so it is often free for workshops to use. Asanetwork also offers a free hotline that provides support with setup and if you have any questions.
Finally, Beaujean pointed out the importance of data security. The Workshop-Net only works in the workshop's local network, and all data remains on site. There is no external data transfer, which ensures the security of sensitive customer and vehicle data.
The discussion made it clear how important digitalization and networking are for modern workshops. Systems like Workshop-Net can optimize processes, reduce errors and increase efficiency, which ultimately leads to higher customer satisfaction.
