Keba: Growth is breaking records

With a jump in sales from EUR 415.4 million to EUR 537.7 million in the last financial year (April 2021 - March 2022), the Keba Group once again achieved the highest sales in its history. Over the past five years, the average annual growth is 22.7%. The international share of business remains high and is around 90%. Around two thirds of the products are delivered to the EU (excluding Austria) and around 13% to Asia. Since the fall of the last financial year, Keba's three business areas – Industrial Automation, Handover Automation and Energy Automation – have been independent companies. Industrial Automation develops and produces automation solutions consisting of hardware and software for machines and robots. Handover Automation is a specialist in handover solutions, which include ATMs at banks or parcel machines at the post office. Energy Automation is one of the pioneers of charging solutions for electric vehicles. Thanks to a variety of interfaces, the wallboxes can be networked with, among other things, a photovoltaic system. Another focus in this business area is the area of heating controls for heat pumps and biomass heating systems. Keba attributes the continuous growth to the following factors: internationalization, focus on growth markets, diversity of business areas, investments in research and development as well as a flat, agile organization with a high level of personal responsibility.

The Keba Group invested around 70 million euros in R&D last year. The number of employees in the entire group, based on full-time employment, was 1,963 at the end of the financial year. Around half of them are employed in Austria, a third in Germany, and around 200 employees in Asia. At the Linz location, 37 apprentices are currently being trained in six different job profiles. Our own specialists are also trained in other branches. Up to 25 young people are also being trained in various professions at locations in Germany. With 26 branches in 16 countries and 8 production sites in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and China, the group of companies has a sustainable presence in all markets and can be there for its customers on site even in times of travel restrictions. Since the beginning of the year, Keba has also had its own branch in Great Britain.
