Annual conference on the two-wheel trade: time for change
Two days ago, Austria's two-wheeler dealers met for their annual meeting in Mondsee. A dense lecture program should be encouraging. In fact, what is lacking is not courage, but rather unity and openness to new things.

Annual conference on the two-wheel trade: time for change
Around 100 two-wheeler dealers from all over Austria came to the annual conference in Mondsee, at the invitation of Ferdinand Fischer, spokesman for the 2-wheel trade, and the Federal Committee for Vehicle Trade of the WKO. A dense program of lectures should give courage for the future. Particularly interesting: The lecture by lawyer Peter Thyri, who gave a rough insight into the completed process between a local car dealer and Peugeot Austria. The question: Did the importer take advantage of its strong market position compared to the dealer? The antitrust court's explosive ruling is expected in April. Depending on the ruling, it could have a significant impact on EU-wide vehicle sales models.
Unsurprisingly, the change was in the Appraisal of motorcycles not well received at all and harshly criticized. The loss of previous annual §57a assessments hurts dealers who only do business in the workshop - trading has become far too meager or a loss-making business.
You can read a detailed summary of the lectures including analysis in the upcoming issue of KFZ Wirtschaft.
