IAA Mobility shows trends for workshops
The IAA Mobility 2025 opens its doors on September 9, 2025 in Munich. It's not just about presenting new vehicle models. A visit to the automotive industry clearly showed that the area of workshop and service management is changing significantly - towards digital know-how, AI-supported solutions, e- and ADAS technologies. In order to continue to exist as technical partners in the market, workshops will now make strategic investments: in personnel qualifications, diagnostic systems and infrastructure.
Volkswagen announced billions of dollars in investments in AI by 2030. Workshops will increasingly have to rely on AI-supported diagnostic tools - for both electric and combustion vehicles. Autonomous driving is increasingly becoming a reality. In the ADAS & Telematics Area, the latest assistance systems are shown and DEKRA and the Technical University of Munich are testing automated driving functions up to level 4. For this, service companies will need infrastructure and specialist knowledge for the maintenance, calibration and software maintenance of autonomous fleets in the future.
The sports car brand Porsche is presenting a market-ready 11 kW wireless charging technology at the IAA. This means that installation, maintenance and advice on wireless charging stations are becoming increasingly relevant.
