IAA 2021 will take place in Munich

VDA President Hildegard Müller spoke of a “very close race, for which I would like to thank everyone involved.” The aim is now to further develop the trade fair at the new location from an automotive platform to a mobility platform. In addition to the fascination with cars, it should be the initial spark for the host city to develop into a smart city with intelligent transport concepts and innovative networking of transport modes - sustainable and geared to people's needs. According to the announcement, Munich convinced the VDA, among other things, with its willingness to make the city center and squares close to the center as event locations for the IAA stage. These locations are to be connected to the exhibition center via a transfer route including priority lanes for environmentally friendly vehicles. The association wants to bring the exhibition onto the streets, into the city and thus directly to the people. The IAA had taken place regularly at the Frankfurt exhibition center since 1951 and addressed up to a million people at individual editions. However, only 560,000 visitors came to the last IAA last year.
