The Hyundai Tucson really offers a lot of car for the money, if it weren't for the pale little details for conscious drivers.

Der Hyundai Tucson bietet wirklich viel Auto fürs Geld, wären da nicht fahle Kleinigkeiten für bewusste Fahrer.

Feel: Small is different, you think when you get into the Hyundai Tucson. A stately automobile: high, wide, very spacious. Thoughts of the Ford Edge come to mind. The Korean SUV makes it clear: welcome to the upper middle class. The interior speaks the current Hyundai design language: functional clarity, subtle details, more simple than upbeat, more tidy than flashy. Advantage: One look is enough to quickly find your way around. Disadvantage: A second glance doesn't reveal anything new. Appropriate: the thick leather steering wheel, the large screen, the easy-to-reach control buttons. Here you still press, touch and don't wipe. I appreciate that. Nevertheless: a touch of color or a little more attention to detail would suit the Tucson well.

Drive: The Tucson drives like a big, comfortable car. The steering offers a lot of power support and turns very easily. The accuracy of the aim suffers somewhat. The steering isn't spongy, but in conjunction with the noticeable side inclinations of the body, you don't get the feeling that you're in very direct contact with the road. The same thing with the chassis: any kind of unevenness is absorbed. Ironing across the streets is very comfortable (=soft). However, the directness is missing. This is an advantage for the majority of drivers. For active drivers, it’s too much cotton ball. Plus the engine, which basically has enough power at 185 hp, but doesn't feel particularly lively - probably due to its high weight. You press the accelerator pedal, the engine becomes loud, the automatic transmission shifts up smoothly, but the increased noise does not match the tame propulsion. In other words: The Tucson doesn't really have any kind of sportiness. He prefers to glide from A to B.

Load: This is where the Tucson shines: the SUV offers between 459 and up to 1503 liters of loading volume. Some station wagons offer more, but they lack an elevated seating position. And that is mainly responsible for the airy feeling of space in the Korean. The second row of seats is absolutely suitable for traveling even for taller people.

Conclusion: With the strictest diesel emissions standard Euro 6d-Temp, 48 volt technology and the generous feeling of space, the Hyundai Tucson really offers a lot of car for the money. There are drawbacks in the somewhat sober design (a matter of perspective) and the unspectacular, because completely emotionless, driving behavior (fact). If you like it big, cheap and comfortable, you should try the Tucson. Anyone who likes to be more active behind the wheel will be a little disappointed in the Tucson. The price is a real declaration of war.
