hollu: Sustainable new building

With the opening of the new production facility, the heart of the supply chain at the hollu campus, a new chapter in the history of the family business begins. The building was built sustainably, is technologically state-of-the-art and aims to live up to the claim of being a place where people enjoy working. The entire new building was built in collaboration with regional partners, embedded in an energy concept that has a long-term impact: photovoltaics with 781 kWp output, smart heat supply, natural materials, lots of light and space to breathe deeply. Right outside the door on the company premises there is also a nature recreation park with local flora and fauna as well as islands of tranquility for inspiration.

Ecological standards

What began as a small soap factory in 1905 has developed into a considerable medium-sized company that today employs around 485 people. The company's focus is to think about hygiene holistically. In its anniversary year, hollu looks back on its history as well as forward into the future. In the new production, automated processes, intelligent building control and the highest ecological standards were implemented with care and foresight. “We want to shape a future worth living together – that’s what drives us,” says Managing Director Simon Meinschad. Since hollu was one of the first companies in Austria to integrate all 17 Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs, of the United Nations into its own strategy in 2018, it has consistently followed this path. It's not just about the latest environmental standards, but also about a corporate culture that embodies responsibility at all levels. "The SDGs are our compass. Every decision is made in accordance with these goals," emphasizes Meinschad.
